The newsfeed, provided by software called Carp, was down for a while. My host, Successfulhosting.com did some kind of server upgrade last night, and this morning the newsfeed had ceased to work. It complained that it couldn’t access its caches.

I didn’t want to take the time to really figure out what was going on, so I just blew it away and started over. While I was at it, I took the opportunity to upgrade Carp with its mysql plugin, that caches feeds in mysql tables rather than in flat files. And it worked without a hitch.

I’ve also added a Washington Post feed to the Reuters feed that was already there.
