It’s official.
I have finally and possibly irrevocably lost my mind.
Along with it I have lost a pair of socks.
These socks.
My Tangled Up In Blue socks. These very socks that were the prototype for this pattern. These socks that I wear all the time because I love them.
They are nowhere to be found.
There are only so many places that hand-knit socks live at chez PI: On my feet, in my sock drawer, in the dirty laundry, in the clean-but-unfolded laundry.
They are not on my feet (I checked), so that can be ruled out.
They are not in my sock drawer. I went as far as taking the drawer out and looking to see if they’d fallen out and gotten wedged behind. Nope.
There is no dirty laundry — I washed it all today. There is no clean-but-unfolded laundry because I put it all away.
I remember a week or 10 days ago putting them in the dryer on a rack so they would dry flat along with the other hand-knit socks. The Tangled socks are cotton, and always take longer to dry, so chances are good that I didn’t take them out at the same time as I took the other socks out. The other hand-knit socks made it to my sock drawer.
I’ve looked everywhere — even in my stash, just in case. I’m stumped.
My one remaining hope is the they somehow got mixed up with #1 Son’s laundry and ended up with him. Stay tuned.
Yes, I did start a pair of socks with the STR club yarn. I’m trying really hard not to lose them. It might be tough because… it’s knitting up as camo.
Pics later when there’s a reasonable chance that most cub members have received their package.
